Spokane Washington ... our spring break

This is our beautiful city...Spokane, Washington.  We spent a lovely day at our park...Riverfront park on our spring break last week.  This is the site of Expo 74.  We are the smallest city ever to have a world's fair. Our city is the 2nd largest in Washington state. 

The river is really high....and crazy full of water! In the background is the US pavilion.  It was once covered with white fabric....but it always tore...so now it is uncovered.

Under the US pavilion is an ice rink and carnival.

I love the clock tower!!

It is a beautiful tower...once part of the railroad....the site of the park used to be nothing but train tracks and yuck.

During expo you could go up to the top.....I was 7 and remember it...such a wonderful experience...we had season passes....which was lucky since we didn't have too much money.  We went down on the bus nearly everyday.

I watched "The Ten Commandments" last night....one of my all time favorite movies.  I usually end up talking like the characters after a while.  I love it when the queen calls Moses a ..."stubborn splendid adorable fool"!

She is right....Moses could have become Pharaoh and then freed everyone.....but no.

When we were kids we would watch it on Easter Sunday night....we would be chopping away at all our candy and having the time of our lives.  This was when you had to wait for something to come on TV....and if you missed it, it was too bad.  Good times!

It's freebie Friday again!  Here is kitty cat in a basket.  I have made this up in a wool pin...using my many small scrap pieces of wool I have ...that I can't seem to throw away!  Do you have fabric scraps that you just can't part with? 

Yesterday I saw Titanic in 3d....very good....I just love that movie.  In the lobby was this great display....

My sister Cecilia and my daughter Selina...got close to Johnny Depp...AKA Barnabus Collins....he he he.  Selina was trying to give him a kiss....but she couldn't get close enough.

Titanic 3D...yeah!

We are going to see Titanic on the big screen today in 3D!!!  My daughter was born the year Titanic came out so she is super excited.  Here are some Watercolor paintings I did....when the movie came out....back then I was doing ebay....and I did lots of these paintings...all sold....forgot to save one for myself....big mistake!

All I have are some pictures and some scans.  It was fun though....I loved seeing the auction prices go up too.  Can't wait to see the massive ship on the big screen and see my daughter face as she watches!

I am going thrift shopping today and hope I can find one of these carts.....cause isn't this pattern the cutest!!!!  Check out Perfect pie lady on Etsy....she made this adorable pattern....and when I see something so cute I want to shout it from the rooftops. 

This is a perfect cart to bring antiquing...going to the Farm Chick show, Funky junk show....etc...

Sneaky Peaky

I hope you are all having a Sweet Sunday.  

It is rainy and windy here...in Eastern Washington....spring has decided not to come....maybe later.  It is spring break here...but seems like it still January :(

I wanted to show you a sneak peak of my next pattern design...it was so much fun that I have all kinds of plans and ideas rushing through my head. 

I am making a cute pincushion and my daughter and hubby are changing things around in the house...I think they are excited to show me. I watched "bridesmaids" last night for the first time....funny but talk about dirty...yikes.  

I may get them to watch "West Side story" tonight...I know that it is   one my daughter should see....love Romeo and Juliet.
